I was going to call this the Great Poop Incident, but that would make it seem like it was the best one, and it might be a challenge for her to outdo herself with another poop incident, and God knows I don’t need more.
Anyway, this morning at 6:30 I was changing her diaper (you know it’s going to be a good story when it starts out “I was changing a diaper”). I had heard her poop when I was feeding her and it had been a good 10 minutes so I figured it was safe to change her diaper. I changed her on my bed and was going about it the usual way.
I got to the point where I had her butt elevated so I could wipe it. Suddenly, more poop came shooting out of it! It arced over the fresh diaper I had under her and went onto my leg. I gasped in surprise and more came out. Next thing I know, it’s on me, on her, on the sheets and on the comforter. There was none, however, on the clean diaper I had under her. So at 6:30 this morning in my sleep deprived state I was wiping up bedding, baby and myself. I looked down and she was smiling like she was so proud of herself!
What a great way to start the day.
